This is a high-quality filter basket with a smoother and higher gloss finish than a standard filter basket.
Ascaso only uses the highest quality steel (AISI 304)
As the circular perforations are uniform and always the same size, you get a better extraction and more crema (maximum tolerance of 0.02 mm difference between one hole and the next). 
Its design (a geometric pyramid for the holes and a 94º angle) guarantees uniform dispensing and reduces possible sediment in the coffee and the blocking of the holes.

Nice upgrade
Bought this part a couple of years ago. I really appreciated the upgrade, it's a tad loser fit compared to the original portafilter, but nothing bothersome. It can fit more coffee that the OG, I usually use 18 gr with espresso roasts and 20 gr with specialty coffee light roasted. Since the corners are a bit sharper, a tip for slower wear of the silicone gasket inside the group is to keep the portafilter on just tight enough to hold itself up during heating up.

Will a 57.4mm tamper fit this ?

Our precision tamper is 57.4mm and is too wide for this 57.3mm basket. The ascaso 57mm is a good fit, as is our 57mm tamper

Hi Michael, I don't know if this will fit Francis X1 - but they are both 57mm so probably will fit - just cannot confirm.

Hi Octavian, Yes this will fit Anna PL41TEM. However, it does not fit quite as well with our generic portafilters, as our fins are thinner. If you want to use this competition with a generic Lelit portafilter you will need to make your gasket thicker using Paper Shim Gasket 0.5mm.

Hi I also have a lelit anna 2. So just to be clear, this would work in my machine with a paper 0,5, but my tamper of 57,35mm will not work?
