This is a converter kit for ascaso models made before (-01/04/15) - it converts a versatile version ( Pod+ Ground ) to a ground-only version.

Why buy?

If you have a versatile model and you want to have full coffee extraction with dry coffee pucks when using ground coffee, then this ground coffee converter kit will suit you.

You will get a better extraction and crème as the coffee puck is extracted fully.

  • 1 x Stainless steel shower screen holder i.277
  • 1 x Stainless steel Shower screen i.278
  • 1 x stainless steel shower screw. i.304

💡 If you have the older pressure basket - shown to the left then this kit will not fit that basket!
       You will need a new pressure basket - see below

💡You should replace the group gaskets when you add this convert kit for a tight seal - See Group Gasket i.2281 or Group Gasket i.57  or the gaskets below.

Installing the ground coffee converter kit

💡You will need a Phillips screwdriver. 

 

Make sure that you use the correct sized head, as the screw is soft and can be damaged.
Turn the machine on its back, and make sure that you remove the water tank and plug it out first.
(As this kit fits on your existing shower screen holder you will have less room in the coffee filter basket  so you may have to adjust the grind.)

1. Remove the small crew in the centre of the brewing screen, this will fall away. 
 - This exposes the brass group head, which has three more screws, remove these.
 - The brass plate should come away.
 - Clean the brass plate, remove the old gasket, and replace it with a new one.

2. Reinsert the brass plate with the 3 screws.
  - Screw on the new brass converter kit, with the screen using the long screw.
  - Now your machine is ready for ground coffee.  


⚠️This kit won't work with the old Ascaso super creme basket

quality of the ordered parts seems to be high
Just came across BlueStarCoffee by searching for spare parts for my coffee machine.

In the end, i ordered few other pieces after my 1. Order was placed. The costumer service added these things very fast, to they sent my just only one package. That was quite amazing, how fast (sunday/weekend) they guys made this happen.

The quality of the ordered parts seems to be high. The manuals are very helpful for repairing the own machine. I also got an upgrade kit - now a new area of coffee tasting begun. Its such a huge different to before!

Ascaso Versatile To Ground Kit

Dear Sir/Madam at Bluestarcoffee I own a Francis Francis x3 and wonder if this kit will fit my espresso machine due to that I've heard that Francis Francis and Ascaso use the same 57 mm boiler? And I wonder when you will have this kit in-stock again? Or do you have any metal converter (the one on the left side in the picture) left laying around that I can buy from you? What are the specifications for the machine screen? It doesn't look like the equivalent part from Ascaso (https://ascaso-usa.com/products/i304-shower-screw?_pos=1&_psq=i.304&_ss=e&_v=1.0) is the same length as the one that comes in the kit. I already have the screen and brew head adapter, but not the screw itself.

Hi Colin, The ascaso i.278 shower is 52mm wide. The i.304 screw for this kit is M4 x 20mm longer than the short versatile screw . Search our site for i.304
