Coffee Filter Papers

To make filter coffee you will need paper filters.

• Hario has a choice of 01 02 03 filter papers in both natural and bleached white filter papers.
• Filtropa has a range of filter paper sizes in both natural and bleached white filter papers.
• Aeropress papers can be used in both Aeropress and portafilter baskets.
• Use portafilter puck paper filters for use in 51mm 53mm and 58mm portafilters, it will keep the shower screen clean, minimizing channelling and reducing particles in the cup.

What is the size difference between Hario sizes?

• Hario makes 3 paper filters 01, 02, 03: Size 01 is for 1-2 cups, Size 02 is for 1-4 cups, and Size 03 is for 1-6 cups. 
• 02 is the most common size and is ideal for 300ml to 600ml - for 2/3 cups. Or choose the 01 for 1-2 cups.

What is the material that Hario uses? 

• Hario is made in Japan from oxygen-bleached paper.

Are Hario papers compostable?

• Hario v60 filters are 100% biodegradable and compostable so once you have finished brewing, both coffee and paper can go into the compost bin.

What are Hario filter papers made from?

• Hario v60 White filters are made with 100% oxygen-bleached paper pulp. Hario v60 Natural Brown Misarashi filters are made with 100% unbleached paper pulp.

Is Hario V60 Filter Paper Unbleached better than bleached ?

• Hario v60 Natural Brown Misarashi filters are made with 100% unbleached paper pulp, so less energy and water are used, making for a lower carbon footprint.
