This wide and tall water softener suits larger open tanks as it is 6cm wide

The scale resin filter prevents calcium build-up in your machine's boiler. As water is passed through the resin the calcium sticks to the resin. 
Resin filters should be replaced every 2-3 months or 38 liters depending on water hardness.
