This is a generic, aftermarket, (Not original manufacturer ) naked portafilter made from chrome-plated brass. 
This high-quality portafilter is made in Milan, Italy and is heavy, for improved heat retention.

Naked portafilters are an excellent tool to improve your espresso pours. 
You can see if you have correctly tamped the coffee, used too little/too much coffee or if the grind is off.
