After the war, Italy undergoes an economic boom and space travel becomes possible, Faema launches space-themed espresso coffee machines Saturno, Marte, ( the first machines to have preinfusion Infuso di Caffè Idrocompresso written on the plexiglass; Venere,  Urania,  In 1961 Faema launches the E61, the first machine to use a volumetric pump to extract espresso coffee at  9 bars - a technical logical breakthrough that replaced manually operated lever espresso machines. The now famous  E61 group optimizes the pre-infusion principle: by wetting the ground coffee for a few seconds before starting the delivery, you achieve the maximum extraction of aromatic substances. in 1967 Faema launched the E66 Diplomatic - a volumetric machine that further automated the espresso process. More innovations followed in the 1980s with the Faematronic, the first traditional machine with electronic dosage.E91 with an electronic auto-diagnostic system. In 2021 the Faemina was launched for the home barista.
