This is a high-volume 400L brass pump with a balanced by-pass, to adjust the pump pressure.

Its typical use is for reverse osmosis.

When to replace:

• *If you can no longer turn the shaft of the pump by hand.

💡 Rotary vane pumps last a long time but have certain weaknesses, they can get blocked with particles that come into the water system from time to time, causing the ball bearings to seize up. Make sure that the pump is protected by a filter (0.15mm mesh) to prevent the entry of particles and foreign bodies. - See below.

*Rotary vane pumps can fail, when debris jams the bearings or rust forms in the bearings due to age or inactivity. Water or steam can splutter from the groups indicating the poor flow of water. If, when you dismount the pump, you can't rotate the shaft with your hand easily - then the bearings are damaged and the pump must be replaced.
