Gicar volume metric flow meter plastic reel 
  
Details: 
PVC  volumetric flow meter Impeller reel fan with  2 magnetic contacts. Typically fails if there has been a build-up of minerals such as magnesium or lime on the metal contacts. Usually, the flow meter top and O ring are replaced at the same time - see below.


You will need to replace the flow meter if: 

• If the volumetric panel no longer programs - (Could also be PCB failure or panel needs to be replaced )
• If the volumetric button no longer works - Could also be panel needs to be replaced.
• If the LED no longer lights up on the flow meter (if you have a led, some flowmeters don't have LED light ) - This means that the impeller is not making contact with metal due to mineral buildup

How to replace the flowmeter lid :

1. Make sure that the main water is turned off at the stopcock.
2. Remove existing flow meter connector wires - - pay attention to where the earth and live were.
3. Remove the old flowmeter top - 3 screws - a cup full of water will escape from pump pressure.
4. Replace with new flow wheel and replace inside gasket.
5. You may have to replace the flowmeter top as well - no need to replace the whole flowmeter as that can be tricky to remove.
