This is a brass 1.8 bar safety valve with a 1/4'' male thread.

Safety valves open up at a certain pressure if the boiler pressure should rise too much due to a pressure switch or PCB malfunction. The safety valve should be replaced if you hear it hissing after the machine has warmed up. ie reached 9 bars. It remains open due to a blockage with lime or spring has lost its strength.You will need plumbers tape to seal the joint.
