This is a Espresso Shot Glass for Single and Double Shot of Ristrettos and Espressos. Made by Europes top espresso accessories producer. It is used to calibrate the coffee grind, tamp or quantity of coffee. Not suitable for dishwasher - wipe with damp cloth., the print will wear off in the dishwasher.
Typically it should take:
7 grams of ground espresso to make a 30ml shot in approx 18-23 sec
14 grams of ground espresso to make a 60ml shot in approx 18-23 sec
It may take longer if using 100% arabica speciality coffees.
If coffee come out too fast - adjust grind to make finer
If coffee come out too slow - adjust grind to make coarser

This takes the guesswork out of making a good serving of espresso or capuccino. My morning capuccino is made with, two measures of Ristretto with 4 oz. of frothed whole milk. Before using this measuring glass, the coffee was sometime bitter because of over-extraction. I use a Rancillio Silvia and a Rancillio grinder. Use the double portafilter insert basket and a single spout handle.
