Comes with a timer that works independently of the scale.

How to use for shots:
1. Put your shot on the scales and press tare function to bring the weight of the glass to zero
2. Press for coffee and time how long it takes to pour 30ml or 30grams.
3. If it takes longer than 18 - 23 sec or (28 sec for specialty coffees) to fill 30ml using 7 grams, then you need to adjust the grind my making it more coarse.
4. If too quick, then make grind finer.

How to use for the grinder:

1. Put your portafilter on the scales and press tare function to bring the weight to zero
2. Press on demand grinder for coffee and switch off when you have correct weight eg 18 grams.
3.Place back on scales to see the weight of the coffee dispensed.

bit glitchy but works ok
slight lag on the reading as you add coffee and on/off button a bit sticky will see how long it lasts
