This gasket is made from heat-resistant silicone, which lasts longer, this makes a big difference in busy environments.
If you notice that there's water leaking from the area above the portafilter, known as the group head, then your gasket is probably to blame. When changed your coffee cream will improve as you will have achieved the maximum extraction pressure of 9 bars. (The pressure will be constant as the filter basket has a full seal.)
This will fit most La Cimbali - but not all see fits tab Features:
Better than rubber gaskets, since silicone doesn't have any smell or taste and is easy to change in and out.
The light color helps to detect if there is a build-up of coffee debris.
9mm thickness ensures that the portafilter faces the 6 o clock position - useful if a machine is more than 2 years old.
Easy to install - just push on and lock with the portafilter.
Easy to replace - all you need is patience and a awl or a sharp screw driver.
Remove the shower screen by unscrewing the main screw.
Remove the old gasket: Use an awl to remove the gasket or sharp screwdriver - it will come away in pieces as it will be brittle.
Insert silicon gasket - 💡be careful as they are very soft and can tear.
Screw back the shower screen.
Changing the group gasket every year will make this job relatively easy to do.
When to replace: When the coffee starts to over flow from handle, when making a coffee. You won't have the correct pressure to extract the coffee, leaving a diluted watery taste in the coffee.
