165 °C safety thermostat Details: This an M4 contact 165°C safety thermostat. If the boiler exceeds 165°C degrees Celsius, this thermostat will trip, cutting power off from the element. This is done to try to prevent element damage due to overheating. To reset - just press down on the top Why replace the safety thermostat? If you have had to reset this a few times - its indicates a thermostat issue - Probably steam thermostat is malfunctioning, so that should be replaced, along with a new safety thermostat. Best to use thermostat paste for maximum response times- see below.
