This is a general all-purpose rotary vane pump it fits almost all 1 and 2-group commercial machines and is the most common available pump used in commercial espresso machines.
Rotary vane pumps can fail, when debris jams the bearings or rust forms in the bearings due to age or inactivity. Water or steam can splutter from the groups indicating poor flow of water. If, when you dismount the pump, you can't rotate the shaft with your hand easily - then the bearings are damaged and the pump must be replaced.
High-volume 200L brass pump with balanced by-pass, to adjust the pump pressure. Its factory set at 9bar so you don't need to adjust it.
When to replace:
If no water coming from the group - you hear noise coming from the machine.
If you can no longer turn the shaft of the pump by hand.
💡 Rotary vane pumps last a long time but have certain weaknesses, they can get blocked with particles that come into the water system from time to time, causing the ball bearings to seize up. Make sure that the pump is protected by a filter (0.15mm mesh) to prevent the entry of particles and foreign bodies. Click here or see below.

Straightforward to install
Turn off machine and if plumbed turn off mains supply.
Remove water inlet hose and water outlet hose with a spanner
Use a screwdriver to remove the pump clasp
Remove pump
Remove the 3/8'' fittings , so they can be reused. (The fittings are often glued and so can be difficult to remove - You can purchse new fittings or insert the pump upside down in boiling water for 10 min to soften the glue on the fittings.)
Insert the fittings into the new pump using PTFE tape for the seal - on both sides of the thread - (PTFE tape on the thread x 4 )
Insert the new pump back into the motor - screwing on the pump clasp
Finally screw on the inlet and boiler hoses
Turn back on water inlet supply.
Turn back on the machine and press coffee button to check for leaks - tighten fittings and the hose pipes in there leaks.
