 165 °C safety thermostat Details: This is an M4 contact 165°C safety thermostat. If the boiler exceeds 165°C degrees Celsius, this thermostat will trip, cutting power off from the element. This is done to try to prevent element damage due to overheating. To reset, just press down on the top Why replace the safety thermostat? If you have had to reset this a few times, it indicates a thermostat issue. Probably the steam thermostat is malfunctioning, so that should be replaced, along with a new safety thermostat. Best to use thermostat paste for maximum response times- see below.
