Details:
The ULKA EX5 is the worlds most common pump sold today - made outside Milan Italy by CEME group.
It is made with a brass stem which lasts longer and is stronger than plastic version. If your model had a plastic stem pump EP5 - this will still fit and is stronger.
Pumps have an average life of between 15-30,000 cups (4- 8 years) and loose their ability to extract at 9 bars of pressure over time.
You may need to replace this pump if:
- If, when you turn the coffee switch on, and you get no water.
- If your pump is 4 years or older, you are getting less coffee crema than you used to get, then the pump pressure is fading - time to get a new one.
Easy to install:
You just need a screwdriver and a spanner to remove the pump.
Takes 10 - 20 min
You may also need amalgamating tape/plumbers tape or thread locker to seal any threading.
