Gaggia classic boiler solenoid (Models before 2015)

3 Way Olab Solenoid Valve. Big Coil 230V 50Hz
This replaces the original Ceme, Olab or Parker valve and  has a bigger coil- but will still fit correctly.

If water or coffee is not coming from the group then the solenoid may be the issue.

When Gaggia solenoid valve is blocked, water will return back into the water tank, showing pump is working but solenoid, is not.
If water is dripping from the group - solenoid needs replacing.
Typically the valve will need to be replaced,if the machine was not descaled frequently or is more than 3 years old.

Easy to replace:
This gaggia solenoid is fastened to the boiler by 2  Allen screws.
Should take  20 min approx.
See instructions below

Please note:

After replacing the electro valve you should perform a descale - otherwise the new solenoid may get blocked with scale debris that is still inside the boiler.
If boiler is very scaled its better to remove the boiler and clean/descale manually.

Fits:
Gaggia models made before 2015
Gaggia Classic,
Gaggia Baby, Baby Class, Baby 06

Solenoid electro valve inc:
Solenoid gaskets x 2
Solenoid coil
Solenoid valve 3 way

How to replace the Gaggia solenoid
  • Turn off and unplug the espresso machine. Make sure that it is cool before beginning the procedure.
  • Remove the top of the machine.
  • Locate the solenoid. It will be behind the boiler, slightly to the left if you are facing the front of the machine. See image
  • Remove the silicon tube from the solenoid by squeezing and sliding the small clamp up the tube. Remove the top nut that is now accessible on the top of the black cube.
  • Remove the wires, marking which one goes on which post. .
  • Now lift the solenoid coil straight up and out of the machine. You will now see a metal shaft exposed. Look underneath the metal shaft, and locate the 2 Allen bolts that hold the solenoid to the boiler.
  • Note: Water should come out of the boiler - clean the area where the solenoid valve was with a wire brush or cloth.
  • Insert solenoid back to boiler and tighten allen bolts.
  • Fill boiler with water as it may be empty, by turning on the coffee button and filling a cup of water.
  • Note: Watch out for leaks in case you did not tighten fully.
  • Note: Descale the boiler as scale is what probably blocked it in the 1st place.

It fixed my Baby Gaggia driping water problem.Genuine solenoid valve, simple replacement.Thank you
