Gaggia classic boiler solenoid (Models before 2015)
3 Way Olab Solenoid Valve. Big Coil 230V 50Hz
This replaces the original Ceme, Olab or Parker valve and has a bigger coil- but will still fit correctly.
If water or coffee is not coming from the group then the solenoid may be the issue.
When Gaggia solenoid valve is blocked, water will return back into the water tank, showing pump is working but solenoid, is not.
If water is dripping from the group - solenoid needs replacing.
Typically the valve will need to be replaced,if the machine was not descaled frequently or is more than 3 years old.
Easy to replace:
This gaggia solenoid is fastened to the boiler by 2 Allen screws. Should take 20 min approx.
See instructions below
After replacing the electro valve you should perform a descale - otherwise the new solenoid may get blocked with scale debris that is still inside the boiler.
If boiler is very scaled its better to remove the boiler and clean/descale manually.
