Motta adjustable leveller 53mm

Description:
This competition leveller is designed to reduce channelling for 53mm portafilters
It is made in Italy to high standards and is heavy weighted at 400 grams. 
Not to be confused with lighter levellers, which don't have the weight, to allow even compacting.

Before you tamp the coffee - using this leveller will  allow you to obtain the correct density, which will minimise channelling and increasing coffee extraction, ensuring greater consistency in the amount of espresso served.

Features:

1. The Motta leveler has 3 angled slopes that consistently, efficiently and evenly glide the coffee around in a circle to create a puck of even density. No more inconsistencies between baristas distribution in the café.
2. This Motta coffee leveler creates a perfectly flat surface to tamp upon, creating more consistent puck density. Baristas can leave a slight mound or indentation in the coffee, which means they tamp down inconsistencies in the puck density.
3. No more dirty, cracked coffee fingers after a day of service on the espresso machine.
4. Less channelling & micro-channelling - improper or rushed distribution, is more likely to channel which effects taste.

How it works:

1. The Motta leveller is made from 3 pieces: Stainless steel leveller + Black metal top + Rubber O ring.
2. The black metal top can sit on the filter basket and not the rim which is 1mm wider.
3. Twisting the leveller clockwise will press any air bubbles in the basket and make the coffee puck more compact and level.
4. Puck is now ready for tamping - sometimes you don't need to tamp- depending on the grind
