Check your espresso machine's pump pressure with this kit, so you can adjust the pump to give you 9 bars of pump pressure.
Over time your pump pressure fades but when you can adjust the pump you can restore the lost coffee crema.
Measures 0-16 bar Fits: Commercial-grade portafilters with 3/8" spout. Some assembly required.
Material: Stainless Steel adaptor, Plastic gauge with steel parts. Dimensions: Ø4cm x 7,5 cm (Ø1,6 x3 inch) Adaptor: 9mm male thread x 3/8'' female thread fitting
How to use the portafilter pressure gauge:
Simply screw on this 3/8'' gauge on the porta filter nozzle - you will have to unscrew your spout first.
Place portafilter into the group as you would normally do.
Turn on the coffee button and watch the pressure build up on the gauge
Adjust the pump to the required pressure ie 9 bars (9 bar is a standard acceptable pressure for brewing espresso)
You can adjust a rotary vane pump - usually a screw at the side of the pump - (clockwise to increase pump.) Allows for adjustment of expansion relief valve (on machines that have it).
1.Wrap some PTFE plumbers tape to seal the threads on the portafilter, where the coffee spout was and onto the brass threading on the gauge. 2.Insert the stainless-steel mesh 1st and then the black rubber gasket into the chrome fitting. Screw this part onto the portafilter. 3.Insert the small o ring onto the gauge. 4. Screw the gauge to the chrome fitting.
