If you have to replace your e61 mushroom, due to mineral build-up and chrome flaking off - then this would be an ideal upgrade.
This kit allows you, to pressure profile by adjusting the pressure of water flowing through the coffee. The flow can be controlled due to its special needle valve, which allows for lengthy pre-infusion for even more saturation and extraction of your espresso drinks.
As the flow is modified, the pressure is shown on the gauge.
Long pre-infusion - adjust the length of pre-infusion
Control flow, lower pressure for 100% arabica, single origin, or light roast.
Lever machine extraction: with pressure control
Use filter grind with lower pressure.
Chrome-coated brass flow Control mushroom with green silicon gasket and large white PTFE gasket.
White pressure gauge 6mm 0-16 bar and 1 x copper o-ring
Simple installation guide.
Preinfusion cancels spring - optional - you may not need it.
Profitec: Almost all E61 models inc Pro 500, Pro 600, Pro 700
Quickmill QM67 Evo - FC Fits but ⚠️the knob is too big for a full turn
⚠️ If after fitting, the FC does not turn 360 degrees you can remedy this by adding PTFE tape to the main thread on top of the group.
Should fit as the mushroom are the same dimensions:
FAEMA : E61, E61 JUBILE, E61 LEGEND
FIAMMA RST: PRESTIGE
Isomac: MILLENNIUM, MONDIALE, TEA, ZAFFIRO
PAVONI: BAR, BART, HOTEL, PUB
San Remo: MILANO LX, TORINO, VERONA, VERONA 2-3 GR
Wega: E61
Grimac E61
BFC Royal
Cime:
La scala
SV Sab
ECM: * Giotto Classika II, Classika PID, Technika III, Technica profi PID, Classic, Mechanika iv profi, Mechanika V Slim, Puristika, Synchronika.⚠️* While the FC unit fits ECM models - the prefusion lower spring does not fit the black PVC fitting that ECM uses, so you may have to discard this black PVC fitting.
Not compatible:
Astoria: Manufacturer code: 27119
BFC: CLASSICA, DELUX, GALILEO, GRANDOGE, IMOLA, JUNIOR, LA VITTORIA, LIRA, MARANELLO, MONZA, OPERA
BRASILIA: CENTURY, CENTURY RESTYLING, CLASSICA, DE-CURTIS, EXCELSIOR, GRADISCA, MINICLASSIC, PORTOFINO Manufacturer code:12790.0.10.04
Rocket: * Appartamento, R58, Giotto , Laura , Michealangelo , Veneziano , Cellini Evo 2, Cellino PID ⚠️ The handle touches against the top and will not swivel 180 degrees. (A workaround would be to unscrew the handle or use a 2nd PTFE gasket)
Unplug from the electrical socket and let the machine cool down. Take note of the pump pressure - approx 9-10 bars and current flow.
Run the water for 20 seconds and measure how many milliliters come out.
Add PTFE tape on the threads of the gauge for the seal.
Turn the gauge clockwise, - hand tight only - don't screw the gauge all the way to the end of the thread.
Use a blind basket to test for any leaks. Hand tighten, if water escapes - take care not to stand too close when tightening.
1. After installing the flow device, you can determine various flow rates at different angles/points. Completely open or close either handle at the 12, 9, 6, or 3 o'clock position. In these instructions, we will be turning counterclockwise.
2. At the 12 o'clock position there will be no water flow. 9 o clock = 2-3 mL/sec. 6 o'clock = 4-6 mL/sec. 3 o'clock = 7 mL/sec, and so on.
The FCD is directly connected to the group head and will therefore become extremely hot, so when turning the FCD handles, be careful so as not to burn yourself. The handles themselves are made of special heat-resistant plastic.
4. Now you can decide whether you want to create a pressure-only profile (manometer only), or whether you want to introduce flow rate into the mix. We recommend experimenting with a variety of different settings to find your perfect espresso.
.Make sure you don't have worn-out gaskets, springs, scale build-up in your group head, etc. Taking proper care of your machine will guarantee the FCD functions properly and efficiently.
Over its lifetime the FCD will not work at its optimum as gaskets and springs can wear and a build-up of scale can obstruct the needle.
does this fit :
Rocket Espresso Mozzafiato Timer Evoluzione
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Majid, It probably does, as it fits ECM and Rocket models, however, we don't have feedback to confirm, as these are new a product.
MichaelfromUnited Statesasks
will this fit a Profitec 700 with its lower group?
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Micheal, This is a new product so we don't have much feedback yet. It will fit Profitec models but you would have to measure it to see if it fits your model as the knob is the same as an E61 knob. You would need 38mm clearance from the existing mushroom and 52mm for the black knob.

Hi
What is the difference between this Flow control and the coffee sensor version ?
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Bernie, The Coffee Sensor E61 Flow Control is made from Stainless steel and uses a smaller knob and a black gauge. Our flow control is made from chrome-plated brass, uses a larger knob, and has a white-faced gauge.

Does this fit for Quickmill 0981?
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Sam, Too early to say, as it is a new product - but if you measure your existing mushroom and compare it with the dimensions shown in the image, you will be better informed. You will need 53mm clearance as the knob is big.

Hi. I have just fitted this but not tried it yet as i am doing a service and descaling. Is the handle completely closed when it is screwed all the way down, clockwise, and fully open when screwed counter clockwise all the way up? So to use the machine normally with no flow control the handle would be screwed all the way up? Thanks.
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Iain, Yes when the handle is rotated clockwise - it is fully closed and anti-clockwise fully open.

Hello there! Happy and returning customer here.
Good thing I held out on the Coffee Sensor flow control device, that now I am offered a cheaper and seemingly better choice.
Just a small question: your product page says "Options: Upgrade to walnut knob - see below." However I didn't see any button to add the walnut knob in the same page.
Is it the same Coffee Sensor walnut knob (ID: 2431) sold separately, or Blue Star Coffee will eventually add a self-branded knob?
Best regards,
-Nguyen from Vietnam
Blue Star Coffee Replies:
Hi Nguyen, The walnut knob is E61 Walnut Lever Round Handle M8 Brass - we have added a link now on the page.
