The piece of wire I used before did the job too, but this one looks very professional :-)
Just kidding, really helps with even distribution of coffee in a portafilter. And looks great!

The WDT is fine. But the silver ring that holds the needles in place was loose on mine when delivered. But a bodge of superglue has held it in place ever since. It's 'fine' but wouldn't have been if it was bought as a present.
