Details:

This is one of our best-selling modifications - easy to install and is a game changer.

This OPV (Over Pressure Valve) is a wonderful and inexpensive modification for any machine with a vibration pump.

This OPV enables you to reduce and adjust the pump pressure.

Some vibration pumps produce approximately 15-18 bars - fitting an OPV drops it to 9/10 bars approx.

Some machines may be set to a higher extraction pressure - those that come with pressurized baskets will typically extract at 12-15 bars. Finely ground espresso tastes better when extracted at 9 bars, using non-pressurized baskets - greater crema and body are achieved.

Fit most vibration pumps, with a little fitting.

Included:

1 x Brass bypass valve - assembled
1 x 50cm Silicon Water Inlet hose tube - discharges excess water back into the water tank.

💡 Not included:

Ptfe Teflon Pipe 4X6mm - Fits on the 1/8" fitting
Silicon Tube Clamp x 1 - Holds the silicon tube in place
PTFE Sealing Tape - In case the threads leak.
Pump Elbow Fitting 1/8 X 6mm male or Straight | Fits pump and connects the 6mm PTFE pipes used in most machines.
Universal Push fitting 1/8 x 6mm - Straight or elbow | Fits pump and connects the 6mm PTFE pipes used in most machines.
Universal push fitting 1/8"x 4mm - Straight or elbow | Fits pump and connects the 4mm PTFE pipes used in Sage Breville models.

Hello! Wonderful upgrade, but I don't have a pressure gauge, so I'm having some trouble finding 9.5 bars. I was wondering how low does the pressure go and how high, so I can "aim" the screw? :) Thanks in advance!

Hi Blaer, I understand that it is adjustable to 9-10 bars. Fitting the OPV reduces pump pressure from 16 bar to 10 bars.

Hello! Has this valve been successfully used in a Breville Barista Express machine? Could it work to replace the stock OPV and reduce the output pressure?

Do these come pre-lubed with silicone grease applied at the spring/plunger?

Hi Mihir, They don't come with lubrication, inside is a spring and grommet - the o ring keeps it tight and from getting loose over time. Lubrication is unnecessary.

Hi Frederic, You can replace the spring,by unscrewing the screw anticlockwise. We don't have other springs, other than what comes with this.
