Sometimes with naked portafilters, you may have coffee spray - this is often due to uneven puck density. Using this tool, combined with a coffee distributor and a tamper will reduce and eliminate the spray - giving maximum coffee cream and a full-bodied shot.

This mini whisk is just small enough to be used as a coffee declumping tool - also known as  WDT, or the Weiss Distribution Technique.

This mini whisk is a handy tool for removing the clumping often found with really fresh and very finely ground coffees. Using this tool for declumping will really help reduce channeling as the grounds will be distributed more evenly.

How to use a mini whisk as a WDT tool:

• Grind coffee into a coffee dosing cup or filer basket
• Stir the coffee to declump 
• Use a coffee distributor or leveler to further distribute the  espresso
• Tamp for good puck density 
• Can be modified by cutting with pliers.
