Details:
This is a generic group gasket not an original - 1mm narrower, suitable for the brass boilers.
You will need to change your gaskets every 1-2 years.
You should also keep a spare under the tray for when you need to replace the gasket.
You will know when to change the gasket:
When the coffee starts to overflow from the handle, when making a coffee, you won't have the correct pressure to extract the coffee, leaving a diluted watery taste in the coffee.
Tip: Replace before the gasket has hardened, otherwise it is harder to remove. No later than 2 years!

Easy to replace - all you need is patience and a awl or a sharp screw driver.
Remove the shower screen by unscrewing the main screw.
Remove the old gasket: Use an awl to remove the gasket or sharp screwdriver - it will come away in pieces as it will be brittle.
Insert silicon gasket - 💡That although the gaskets are strong under compression, you should never use a sharp tool like a screwdriver to install them. This may tear the silicone.
Screw back the shower screen.
Changing the group gasket every year will make this job relatively easy to do.
When to replace: When the coffee starts to over flow from handle, when making a coffee. You won't have the correct pressure to extract the coffee, leaving a diluted watery taste in the coffee.
Why does this gasket not fit models with a brass boiler? (Francis Francis X3 Ground)

Hi Philip, I think that the brass boilers require a different gasket. Check the dimensions of your gasket - this one is 71.5 x 54 x 4 mm.

Hi, I just wanted to confirm that this gasket will fit the Francis Francis X1 first generation espresso machine with aluminum boiler. The same product number on the Illy website says it only fits brass boiler machines (same at cerinicoffee.com). My old gasket measures rougly 66 mm outer diameter, 53 mm inner diameter, and 4 mm thick. If you have the gasket for the first gen X1 aluminum boiler machine, I will buy some immediately! Thank you

Hi Andrew, It seems that this gasket will be 4mm to wide for your model, as it is 70 x 53 x 4 mm. Could be trimmed..?
